When booking a DJ its not all about price. A cheap DJ is not necessarily better because the price is cheaper you need to ask what they provide for that price. Do they have Public Liability Insurance? Is there equipment Portable Appliance Tested? Are they a Professional? Do they pay for their music or is it illegally downloaded? Every DJ has different equipment and a different ethos of work. Myself I am employed by you to do a job and I am going to make sure that job is done well and to your exact requirements. With my equipment I am what is known as a GEAR SNOB which means I want and have the best equipment simply because I would be embarrassed by not having a crystal clear sound system and all singing all dancing lighting fixtures and I cant say the same about the Cheap DJs or even the really expensive DJs.
